Netflix signs Streaming Deal with DreamWorks

By -

Netflix is back in the news again but this time they have some good news for a change. Netflix has gone through a couple of downfalls the last few months due to the sudden changes to their service (price increase). But now they could provide some new goodies (films) for their subscribers with a DreamWorks streaming deal.

New York Times has reported that Netflix and DreamWorks have signed a streaming deal which will allow Netflix subscribers to gain access to DreamWorks Animation films.

DreamWorks is one of the most popular and largestt film production companies in the world. They’ve created many hit animation films such as, Megamind, the Shrek series and Kung-Fu Panda. With this deal, Netflix subscribers will gain access to many movies from the DreamWorks collection.

Since the announcement of Qwikster (the re-branded DVD Rental service by Netflix), subscribed members have been on edge and lost alot of the trust they had with Netflix. Slowly the premium streaming and DVD rental service is building back its trust with loyal customers with deals like this. The deal has not been confirmed yet but the New York Times has reported that the deal may be worth $30 million per film based on multi-year contract.

What this all means in simple terms – More movies to stream. Simply put.
